Nancy, the vice president of a family-owned transportation conglomerate, also gets on fabulously with Paul's five children.
He had four children with with Linda - who died of breast cancer in 1998 - Heather, 48, Mary, 41, Stella, 39 and James, 33.
And it wasn't just the future Mrs Paul McCartney who turned out to support the designer but she was surrounded by her famous friends at the event.
Actresses Liv Tyler, 33 , and Naomi Watts, 42 , attended the event, where brightly coloured balloons that adorned the grounds of the pretty chapel to create that 'fete' feel.
Even the notoriously glacial Anna Wintour, 61 , the formidable editor of Vogue, seemed to be almost gleeful to attend the quaint party.

Wintour was one of the few revellers not to adhere to the primary colour dress code, displayed by singer Estelle, 31, in a beautiful blue dress, and opted for muted beige tones.
Stella's close friend Bono, 51, stuck with the stadium rocker uniform of black leather jacket and jeans, accessorised of course, by his trademark sunglasses.
The McCartney family do, of course, have an auspicious link to the church fete.
It was at one such gathering in Liverpool's Woolton, way back in 1957, where Stella's father, Paul, met John Lennon for the very first time.
