He isn't the reason they're not keeping clean sheets now. They're all at it. Defensive mishaps have gone viral.

During the game in midweek Raul Mei reles, Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole were all at fault for Napoli's goals. For their first, Ezequiel Lavezzi turned past Meireles too easily on the edge of the box to curl in the leveller. Ivanovic was caught ballwatching when Gokhan Inler swung in a deep cross for Edinson Cavani to put Napoli in front with a simple flick in at the back post. And Cole allowed Cavani in behind him to pass across to Lavezzi for the third.
Luiz is being paired at the back with Gary Cahill.
They are both young and new to the team. Andre Villas- Boas needs to be doing a lot of work with these guys and his full backs - they continue to make basic individual mistakes that are punished. It's going to take a lot of work.
He appears to be trying to get his project and his strategy to work in one season.

He's trying to cram what most managers would take two to three years to change into one campaign. When he joined the club we don't know what the brief was. Roman Abramovich changed from tried-and-tested managers to a young manager. You assume he was looking for more entertainment. He's certainly got a white knuckle ride now.
If the owner wanted something a little more off the cuff he's got it but that sort of radical change in six months is not going to be easy. If he's happy to be going through some awkward games then he should publicly back the manager.
Villas-Boas is facing every question on his own, whether it's about the long term, short term, transfer policy, results or form.
The situation is a bit embarrassing. He's begging for someone to show him support.

However, I don't think the players will have a lot of respect for him. He walked away and they've done well without him. But the players will judge Tevez by his performance level. I think he must be three weeks from getting fit and Sergio Aguero is playing so well Tevez isn't certain to start straight away.
The fitter he gets the more he'll want to play and he will get a chance. But the players will wait until he's playing before making any judgment about him.
