Dunkin' Donuts woman went on rant over receipted bill

A Dunkin' Donuts rant story open up that it could be Sometimes the customer isn’t always right. Take, for example, the Dunkin’ Donuts customer who went off on an employee over a receipt. The woman’s rant was captured on video and has gone viral after The Consumerist posted its June 10 commentary on the incident.

The woman went on a rant, fueled by her desire for free food from the Dunkin’ Donuts location in Broward County, Fla. What did that location and its employees do that incited such a response?

An employee forgot to give her a receipt, an oversight that entitles customers to an immediate refund in keeping with Dunkin’ Donuts’ policy. According to the woman, identified as Taylor Chapman by The Smoking Gun, the employee said she could return the next day and get her order for free.

So Chapman returned, camera in hand, to video the exchange in a deliberately confrontational encounter. In addition to the missing receipt, Chapman claimed poor customer service on the part of the Dunkin’ Donuts employee who served her the day before. During filming, Chapman repeatedly says she's contacted a lawyer and threatens to post the video to Facebook.

What Chapman truly captures on video, however, isn’t poor customer service but her own extraordinarily poor behavior.

Chapman’s approximately eight-minute video captures the incident. What it reveals is her anger-fueled rant that harasses the Dunkin’ Donuts’ employees and which visibly makes both the employees and other customers uncomfortable. She even goes so far as to confront the employee she alleges behaved rudely, calling the employee unprintable, hate-filled names.

Be warned: the Dunkin’ Donuts video is NSFW, filled with obscenities and racist and sexist slurs.

The Consumerist points out some of her other choice phrases in its coverage, many of which are laced with profanity. The excerpts, which can be heard clearly on the video itself, illustrate why she’s a prime example of its claims: “Consumers Behaving Badly” and that “This is Not How You Treat People.”

For whatever reason, Chapman actually posted the video – exposing her shenanigans for the world to see. Perhaps she was hoping for validation that she, indeed, was wronged.

But while Chapman is busy degrading herself for free food and a Strawberry Coolatta, the video affirms what she fails to recognize: the Dunkin’ Donuts employees she accosts deserve the attention and respect she demands for herself.

Still, the Dunkin’ Donuts woman has achieved a certain degree of notoriety. She’s been subject to intense criticism since the video went viral, especially after The Smoking Gun revealed her identity. According to that site, Chapman has since deleted her Facebook page and could not be reached for comment.
