The man who spat in the face of Bath rugby star Peter Stringer has been banned until next season.
Stade Francais scrum-half Jerome Fillol pleaded guilty to the offence, which occurred during the Paris club's Amlin Cup win last week to widespread disgust.
Judicial officer Anthony Davis deemed to be "intentional, deliberate and grave" but could find no aggravating factors and cut the ban from a top-end entry point of 26 weeks due to "compelling" mitigating factors - including Fillol saying he was very sorry.
The Frenchman was also said to have an exemplary record, despite Stringer's dad claiming he previously spat at his son during an Under-21 international in 1999.
