'Signing up to the show was a big mistake': Splash's Kendra Wilkinson apologises to fans after getting axed for refusing to leap



Kendra Wilkinson has revealed she regrets ever signing up to appear in Splash after being booted off the celebrity diving show.


The 27-year-old was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport on Tuesday night just hours after her dramatic - and rather disappointing - exit aired on television.


She refused to leap off a 23-foot high diving board with her extreme skier partner Rory Bushfield and said her automatic elimination would haunt her forever.

She took to Twitter after the broadcast and said she was getting heat for quitting.

'Big mistake signing up for the show. Sorry I let you all down,' read one of her postings.

The former Playboy Mansion resident, ex-girlfriend of Hugh Hefner and reality TV star touched down at LAX after a cross-country flight from New York where she earlier taped a segment on ABC's The View.

Wilkinson kept it casual at the airport, wearing baggy grey sweatpants, a T-shirt and grey hoodie.

She capped off the ensemble by keeping her black-and-white neck pillow on her shoulders.

Kendra had previously admitted on ABC's Splash that she was afraid of heights.

She was paired with wildman Bushfield for the pairs diving episode.

Divemaster Greg Louganis wanted the duo to do a 'baby' catch dive with Bushfield holding Kendra in his arms as they jumped.

Bushfield defied doctors' orders to stop diving after rupturing an eardrum in practice, but even he couldn't talk Kendra into taking the leap.

Kendra kept finding excuses not to do the dive in practice sessions.

'I have to poop,' she claimed as Bushfield repeatedly tried to get her to jump.

Kendra fought back tears as she wrestled on the show with whether to dive or not.

'It's very bittersweet,' Kendra said later. 'One thing I don't do is quit and this is the first time in my life I've quit so I'm not happy. This will haunt me for the rest of my life.'

Kendra also took to Twitter on Wednesday and thanked her fans for their support. Her posts said she didn't have any disappointment and remained proud of herself.
