Actor and comedian Kevin Hart was arrested early Sunday morning (April 14) on suspicion of DUI after he nearly slammed into a gas tanker while speeding on a freeway, according to the celebu-site TMZ.
The CHP told TMZ that officers spotted Hart driving a black Mercedes on the 101 Freeway at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The CHP said he was “driving erratically,” “going 90 miles per hour,” and that he “almost collided with a gas tanker truck.”
The CHP says when they pulled Hart over, he showed “objective signs of intoxication” and was “unable to perform field sobriety tests.”
Hart was booked into jail for misdemeanor DUI and posted a $5,000 bond.
TMZ further reports that on his way out of jail Sunday morning, Hart admitted to TMZ that he was intoxicated when he was stopped by the CHP, and told officers he had been drinking.
