Deadliest Catch Star Missing: A "Deadliest Catch" Reality show star was noticeably absent from the season 9 premiere and fans were fairly upset, though Captain Elliott Neese has reassured fans he will be featured on the latest season.
"Crew showed up today, really gettin' to work on the boat we have 2 months to do a total retrofit/makeover I hope we can make our deadline!! I've never missed one… don't believe everything you see it a tv show there has to be drama and conflict and resolution its tv," Neese tweeted to fans.
Even some of Neese's co-stars were surprised he wasn't featured on the episode and wondered if he would be returning.
"Elliott should be here. He should be ready to go," Scott Campbell, who works abroad the Seabrooke said, told Contact Music.
Neese began working on "Deadliest Catch" in 2010, trying to catch as many Blue King Crab as possible during the season. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful, and it took him almost a year to finally find himself and a good bounty of crab. Disaster struck, though, when it was discovered that he crab Neese and his crew had managed to catch were undersized, meaning that he had to turn them over to the state. He received a citation for the undersized fish and was left embarrassed.
"In all honesty, I'm kinda not surprised Elliott isn't here this year," Sig Hansen told The Hollywood Reporter. "No owner is going to let a guy run a boat and not produce. You're going to lose your job. When you've got guys that are hungry, that's when things get nasty, that's when the gloves are off – especially when you've got experienced and inexperienced people playing in the same sandbox. That's when it's a war."
Even though Neese has tweeted that fans should not "believe everything they see," a statement from the Discovery Channel may have hinted that Neese will no longer be seen.
"While the skippers wage war for crab supremacy, the youth seek opportunity. Time Bandit deckhand Josh Harris attempts to keep his father's fishing legacy alive, while on the Northwestern, both Edgar Hanson and Jake Anderson's quest for a captain's chair becomes closer to reality," the statement read.
