'There were two fights among girls in the hallway, and students left classrooms to see the fight,' a DOE spokeswoman said in a statement to the New York Post.
No students were arrested or injured, though police said they issued eight sommonses and a youth desk appearance ticket after the fight.
As Gothamist points out, the school has had a bad run of violent incidents.
Last November, two school safety guards were injured by students. Four students were later booked for attempted arson. Then last March, a video captured police and students fighting in an all out brawl. Also, students rioted over a bathroom ban in winter 2010.
