Michael Laudrup will bid to tempt Romelu Lukaku to Swansea next season with the carrot of European football.
The teenage Chelsea striker is coming to the end of a season on loan at West Brom, where his 13 goals have them on the fringes of the European places.
Swansea, however, are definitely in the Europa League next season, having lifted the Capital One Cup back in February.
Lukaku is set to ask the Blues to loan him out for a second successive season when his current spell expires in May.
Despite enjoying his time at The Hawthorns, he is keen for his next campaign to include European football so he can continue his career progression.
The 19-year-old Belgian, bought from Anderlecht in his homeland for £18million in August 2011, is determined not to go back to Chelsea to sit on the bench.
He wants to follow the example of his Belgium team-mate, keeper Thibault Courtois, who helped Atletico Madrid win the Europa League last season and clinched a UEFA Super Cup win over parent club Chelsea last summer.
Laudrup is a big admirer of Lukaku, who scored Albion’s consolation goal when the Baggies were beaten 3-1 at the Liberty Stadium in November.
The Dane wants a frontman to take the pressure off Michu, who has scored 17 League goals this season.
The club’s next highest scorer in the League is midfielder Jonathan De Guzman, with just five.
